SiteGot Contract Questions?
Diana and I often get contract questions from writers. Sometimes we can answer them, but most of the time we send the writers to the Contracts Committee at the American Society of Journalists and Authors. The experts there can answer questions about contracts and rights — and even better, this is a free service and you don’t have to be a member to take advantage of it. If you want to use the service, be sure to have clear and detailed questions or concerns; you can’t just send them a contract and ask for their opinion. ASJA offers this service to educate writers, so they don’t want writers using the service as a crutch to avoid dealing with contracts altogether.
