Want to write for custom pubs?
One of our readers sent us a super helpful e-mail in response to Linda’s post about writing for custom pubs. Thanks, Dinsa!

Hi Linda, hi Diana,
Recently, you wrote a blog entry on custom pubs. I found it very helpful. Thanks! Here’s something I would like to add:
Quite alike custom pubs, there is a whole group of in-house club/organization magazines. Surprisingly, most of them are open to freelance contributions. Pay is not bad, varying between $150-$1000; some even pay as high as $1/word.
These are most likely not found on newsstands, so you’ll have to make the extra effort of obtaining them from actual club/organization members. Some have their sites, so that might help you with your market research, too.
A few examples include:
Circle K magazine: Official magazine of Circle K club, the largest collegiate club in the world.
Keynoter magazine: Official magazine of Key Club, the largest high school service club in the world. http://www.keyclub.org/
U.25 magazine: Magazine for dependents of USAA members.
Kiwanis magazine: Magazine for Kiwanis International club.
The Rotarian magazine: Magazine for members of the Rotary Club.
Sierra magazine: For the members of Sierra Club.
And there are many, many more!
