New Writing Group: Way North Writers
Say hello to Way North Writers, which is for working writers in MA, NH, VT, ME…really, anywhere within driving distance of Concord, NH. My writer friend Elaine Grant and I are modeling the group after the very popular Chicks Who Write group in Boston — but we have a bonus in that we allow dudes! The first meeting will be on Thursday, November 29 at 7 pm at my house in Concord, NH. We plan to have food and drink, networking, and a presentation on a topic such as organization, marketing, or productivity. There will be a small fee (probably $10) to pay the speaker. This is a great opportunity to connect with writers of all types and learn new skills that can boost your writing career.
If you’d like to attend the first meeting of Way North Writers, please RSVP to lindaformichelli@gmail.com. [lf]

I don’t think they have a web presence…Chicks Who Write is just a big, fun group of professional writers who get together at a member’s home to network and listen to speakers. Diana and I gave a talk at one of their meetings this year and I liked it so much I joined, even though I live over an hour away! At the meeting I went to, members put money into a bowl, and that was offered to the speakers. I believe at their last meeting (which I couldn’t attend), they had an expert speak about overcoming procrastination.
